One of the number one woes of skincare is the wrinkles, sagginess, and lines as we get older. Anti-aging products have saturated the beauty markets with an array of anti-aging creams, serums, and lotions that promise endless results. That is why we have decided to mention some of our favourite powerhouse youth boosting potions that you should try that we think deliver on their promises!
One of our most favourite brands in the anti-aging range is Skinceuticals. We think it is the gold standard in high technology skincare. All the products are backed up by science formulas that are designed to help achieve the healthiest, and best product for your skin. Below we will discuss our favourite Skinceuticals products that you need to add to your skincare regime!
Skinceuticals A.G.E Interrupte
The A.G.E range stands for advanced glycation end-products which is vital for the anti-aging process. We have started of this one because it is one of the best-selling creams in the range. The beauty of this cream is that it slows down the loss of elasticity that is in your skin and boosts your skin’s collagen levels. Not only will this cream help with lines and wrinkles, but will also reduce the thinness of your skin. This happens when your skin loses collagen – it becomes thin and the lines show. So give this product a try – as the name suggests, your aging will be interrupted.
Skinceuticals CE Ferulic Serum
One ingredient that is a MUST in anti-aging skincare are antioxidants. It is like the protector of your skin (after sunscreen of course). The ferulic acid is a potent antioxidant in this product, which will help reverse and prevent damage that may have been caused by the sun or the environment. It will also build collagen, and replenish the liquid to keep your skin’s elasticity and looking firm and smooth. This serum is made from 15% of vitamin C to help neutralise the free radicals that would otherwise penetrate through your skin’s barrier. The vitamin C will also help brighten your skin. Along with the vitamin C, it only contains 1% of vitamin E which is something that the body cannot produce on its own. So what more do you want out of a serum? Of all the antioxidant serums that exist, this is arguably our favourite!
Skinceuticals Retinol 1.0
Retinol is one of the most powerful anti-aging skincare ingredients along with antioxidants. The retinol is a vitamin A derivative that will reverse signs of ageing by evening out the skin tone and reducing the depth of your lines and wrinkles. As the name of this product suggests, Skinceuticals Retinol contains a high concentration of retinol – 1%, which means that it works quickly to reverse the effects of ageing. Given the high concentration however, this product needs to be eased into your skincare routine by starting off once a week, and slowly building it up. The product will lightly exfoliate your skin to improve the clarity and texture of your skin while evening out any pigmentation you may have. Not only is this a very effective product, but it also smells magnificent with a blend of passion flower, shea butter, and milk thistle. The aroma does more than just wonders to your nostrils, but also hydrates your skin and calms any irritation that you may experience.
Skinceuticals A.G.E Eye Complex
Of course with anti-ageing products, your main focus should be your eyes, as that is where the signs of ageing occur the most. We recommend splurging on this product to combat all your lines and wrinkles around your eyes. It is a balmy formula with optical diffusers to reflect light away which would normally cause the fine lines. It contains blueberry extract, peptides, and proxylane which aid in hydrating and nourishing your skin to reduce any signs of fine lines and crow’s feet.
Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore
Lipids are natural fats that our body produces and play an essential part to maintain the skin’s elasticity and barrier which protects our skin from UV rays and dirt. As we get older our lipid production declines which can cause dullness of our face, and ultimately compromises our skin barrier. The Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore encompasses of ceramide, fatty acids, and a high concentration of lipids. An eight week study was conducted with this product which showed visible signs of improvement of ageing skin.
Skinceuticals Phloretin CF
I know we said the Skinceuticals Retinol 1.0 was the best serum, but a close contender is the Skinceuticals Phloretin CF. This powerful antioxidant serum contains a synergistic combination of vitamin C, phloretin, and ferulic acid while being gentle enough to use for daily use. It helps combat both sun damage and environmental damage, and evens the tone and texture of your skin. The vitamin C also helps brighten the skin and give an illuminating radiance, leaving your skin and face feeling youthful and fresh.
Skinceuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier
Hyaluronic acid is the latest buzz word for skincare these days. But rightly so, because does it do wonders on your skin! Hyaluronic acid helps hold moisture in the skin, and although your body can make it naturally, by adding it to your skincare regime, the chemical is so light (and powerful) that it can absorb moisture easily into your skin. The reason hyaluronic acid is great for ageing skin is that it adds moistures to your skin, plumping away any fine lines and wrinkles. The serum features proxylane, licorice root and purple rice. These ingredients work together to amplify the skin’s hyaluronic acid levels to produce long lasting hydration and skin texture. Able to be used everyday, no doubt you will be having soft, smoother, and more illuminating skin than ever before.
